I own a Sony touch edition ereader, and I Love it. I was wondering if I downloaded the kindle app for my computer if I could then take the file and read it on my ereader. Anyone know if that’s possible?
Sorry, but all ebook readers (including the Kindle) protect their own ebooks by DRM, so they cannot be read by other ebooks readers.
But there are millions of free books here. Other than those ebooks in Kindle format, other books should work on the Sony Reader as well:

And I’ve given more of my opinions about different ebook readers, in a previous answer here:

Hope it helps

No. Part of the problem with e-readers right now is that you are locked into whatever store you buy into. Sony books can only be read on a sony, kindle books can only be read on a kindle, etc.
